MEDIUM AND STYLE
Stained-glass window artwork filling the whole canvas, luminous coloured glass panes separated by dark lead lines, painted glass details on faces and foliage, light glowing through. Vary pane sizes and add painted texture inside the larger panes so no pane reads as a flat colour field.
SCENE
A vibrant coral reef scene teeming with diverse marine life is depicted in stained glass. The coral of various shapes and colours occupies the foreground, providing shelter for playful clownfish nestled among swaying anemones. A sea turtle gracefully glides near the center, its textured shell catching sunbeams piercing the water. In the midground, a curious octopus and a group of colourful parrotfish swim amidst the coral, while shoals of silver fish dart around them. In the background, a majestic manta ray elegantly sweeps across the scene, with sunbeams dancing through the clear water overhead. Focal point: A graceful sea turtle near the center of the frame, illuminated by sunbeams. Foreground: Intricate coral formations in vivid colours, among which clownfish dart in and out of anemones. Midground: An octopus and a school of parrotfish, surrounded by silvery shoals and diverse coral. Background: A manta ray swimming in deeper water, illuminated by sunlight streaming through the surface. Lighting: Sunlight filters through the water from above, illuminating the scene with a glow that highlights the vibrant colours of the coral and marine creatures. Colour zones: azure blue #1e90ff for water background; fiery coral #ff4500 for coral foreground; mint green #32cd32 for sea turtle; fuchsia pink #ff1493 for anemone; steel blue #4682b4 for manta ray and shadowed areas; golden yellow #ffd700 for sunlight; ochre brown #daa520 for octopus. Small hidden details spread across different areas: A hidden seahorse; An orange starfish; Mollusks on the coral; Hidden clownfish; A treasure in the sand.
FORMAT
Portrait format 3:4 (2304×3072). Vertical composition: foreground, midground and background stacked from bottom to top, with interest reaching the top edge.
PUZZLE CALIBRATION
The picture will be cut into about 108 pieces (9 columns by 12 rows). A clear focal point surrounded by many secondary details; medium-sized colour regions, each with its own texture; a recognisable object or pattern fragment in every piece-sized area.
PUZZLE CRAFT (house rules)
Original artwork made to be printed and cut into a premium jigsaw puzzle. Edge-to-edge composition: the scene fills the whole canvas, corners and borders included, with real content in all four corners because players start with the edge pieces. Even distribution of interest: there is something to recognise in every area of the picture, with no large empty or uniform zone (no plain sky, flat water, blank wall or smooth gradient covering more than a small part of the image). Clear colour zoning: five to eight distinct colour families laid out in readable regions, so players can sort pieces into piles by colour. Inside each colour region, varied textures and small details (brick, foliage, fabric, ripples, patterns) so two pieces of the same colour still look different. Full tonal range with strong local contrast between neighbouring shapes; deep shadows keep detail and highlights never blow out. Everything in sharp focus from the foreground to the horizon: no depth-of-field blur, no bokeh, no motion blur, no haze or fog veils. Rich, saturated but print-safe colour, balanced warm and cool tones, even lighting that keeps every area legible. Layered depth: a detailed foreground, a lively midground and a structured background stacked through the frame. Small hidden stories and discoverable details spread across the canvas, rewarding a close look.
