MEDIUM AND STYLE Traditional Japanese woodblock print aesthetic, crisp carved outlines, layered flat colour with visible wood grain and paper fibre texture, stylised waves, clouds and patterns. Fill skies and water with patterned stylised clouds and waves rather than flat colour. SCENE A vibrant mountain pass village nestled in springtime. At the center, a striking red arched bridge spans a rushing river, drawing the viewer's eye with its vivid hue. Cherry trees laden with pink blossoms line the riverbanks and terraces, while travelers cross the bridge, holding colorful paper umbrellas. Above, the majestic snowy peak of a mountain emerges from a scattering of clouds, framed by a serene sky. The rice terraces are lush and green, cascading down the hillside, with small thatched houses dotting the landscape. Focal point: The red arched bridge sits center stage, arching gracefully over the rushing river. Foreground: The foreground is alive with lush green rice terraces and clusters of blooming cherry trees. Travelers with bright paper umbrellas dot the scene, moving towards the bridge. Midground: The midground features the striking red arched bridge crossing a bubbling river. On either side, paths wind through the cherry blossom trees, leading travelers towards the village. Background: In the background, a towering snowy mountain peak rises above the clouds, framing the scene and adding a touch of majesty. Sparse clouds add visual interest to the sky, filling the entire upper space. Lighting: Gentle, even daylight bathes the scene, highlighting the cherry blossoms and casting soft shadows. This spring light enhances the vivid colors of the bridge and greenery, and reflects slightly on the river's surface. Colour zones: Vermilion Red #d93724 for bridge; Emerald Green #7fb47e for rice terraces; Cherry Blossom Pink #fec5e5 for cherry blossoms; Soft Sky Blue #bcd3ee for clouds and sky; Snowy White #e1e3da for snowy peak. Small hidden details spread across different areas: Hidden sakura in trees; Koi fish in the river; Forgotten umbrella on the terrace; Birdhouse on a branch; Hidden path in the forest. FORMAT Portrait format 3:4 (1536×2048). Vertical composition: foreground, midground and background stacked from bottom to top, with interest reaching the top edge. PUZZLE CALIBRATION The picture will be cut into about 108 pieces (9 columns by 12 rows). A clear focal point surrounded by many secondary details; medium-sized colour regions, each with its own texture; a recognisable object or pattern fragment in every piece-sized area. PUZZLE CRAFT (house rules) Original artwork made to be printed and cut into a premium jigsaw puzzle. Edge-to-edge composition: the scene fills the whole canvas, corners and borders included, with real content in all four corners because players start with the edge pieces. Even distribution of interest: there is something to recognise in every area of the picture, with no large empty or uniform zone (no plain sky, flat water, blank wall or smooth gradient covering more than a small part of the image). Clear colour zoning: five to eight distinct colour families laid out in readable regions, so players can sort pieces into piles by colour. Inside each colour region, varied textures and small details (brick, foliage, fabric, ripples, patterns) so two pieces of the same colour still look different. Full tonal range with strong local contrast between neighbouring shapes; deep shadows keep detail and highlights never blow out. Everything in sharp focus from the foreground to the horizon: no depth-of-field blur, no bokeh, no motion blur, no haze or fog veils. Rich, saturated but print-safe colour, balanced warm and cool tones, even lighting that keeps every area legible. Layered depth: a detailed foreground, a lively midground and a structured background stacked through the frame. Small hidden stories and discoverable details spread across the canvas, rewarding a close look. AVOID text, letters, numbers, captions, signature, watermark, logo, brand names, frame or border, vignette, puzzle-piece outlines drawn on the image, collage or split panels, large empty areas, blur or bokeh, heavy film grain or noise, distorted anatomy, real people or celebrities, trademarked characters.
