MEDIUM AND STYLE
Busy seek-and-find panorama illustration, crisp outlines, hundreds of small characters and objects, each telling a tiny story, clear colour coding by district. Divide the scene into recognisable districts, each with its own colour theme, connected by paths; no repeated identical figures.
SCENE
In the bustling heart of a Mediterranean old town, a vibrant open-air market bursts with life on a summer morning. Stalls laden with fresh fruits, exotic spices, fragrant flowers, and local cheeses line the cobblestone paths. Children dart between tables, cats lounge in shady spots, and musicians play lively tunes near a grand central fountain. Overhead, colorful laundry flutters on lines strung between charmingly weathered houses, capturing the essence of daily life. The scene is a tapestry of vivid sights and bustling activity, drawing the eye into its many stories. Focal point: The central fountain, sitting slightly off-center, around which the market unfolds. Foreground: The foreground is rich with detailed market stalls brimming with vibrant produce, cheese wheels, and jars of spices. Children eagerly sample fruit, and a curious cat peers from behind a flower pot, engaging the viewer's eye with a playful touch. Midground: Musicians strum their instruments beside tables of olives and wine, while shoppers exchange goods and greetings. Cobblestone paths guide the eye through the scene, offering glimpses into various stalls and the activities of the market-goers. Background: Historic houses frame the scene, with pastel facades and open windows revealing fluttering laundry lines. Potted plants and vines climb the walls. Above, a warm, cloud-dappled sky hints at the sea beyond, while rooftops offer a perch for more curious cats. Lighting: Morning sunlight pours in from the east, casting warm, crisp light across the scene and creating lively contrasts that highlight the vibrant colors and intricate details of the market. Colour zones: Cherry red #e63946 for fruit stalls; Azure blue #3b82f6 for sky; Sunflower yellow #ffcd38 for cheese stalls; Leaf green #34d399 for flower stalls; Mandarin orange #f97316 for spice stalls; Amethyst purple #8b5cf6 for musicians' corner. Small hidden details spread across different areas: A cat on a rooftop; A frog in the fountain; A musician playing an accordion; A heart-shaped tomato; A bird on the laundry line.
FORMAT
Portrait format 3:4 (1536×2048). Vertical composition: foreground, midground and background stacked from bottom to top, with interest reaching the top edge.
PUZZLE CALIBRATION
The picture will be cut into about 165 pieces (11 columns by 15 rows). A clear focal point surrounded by many secondary details; medium-sized colour regions, each with its own texture; a recognisable object or pattern fragment in every piece-sized area.
PUZZLE CRAFT (house rules)
Original artwork made to be printed and cut into a premium jigsaw puzzle. Edge-to-edge composition: the scene fills the whole canvas, corners and borders included, with real content in all four corners because players start with the edge pieces. Even distribution of interest: there is something to recognise in every area of the picture, with no large empty or uniform zone (no plain sky, flat water, blank wall or smooth gradient covering more than a small part of the image). Clear colour zoning: five to eight distinct colour families laid out in readable regions, so players can sort pieces into piles by colour. Inside each colour region, varied textures and small details (brick, foliage, fabric, ripples, patterns) so two pieces of the same colour still look different. Full tonal range with strong local contrast between neighbouring shapes; deep shadows keep detail and highlights never blow out. Everything in sharp focus from the foreground to the horizon: no depth-of-field blur, no bokeh, no motion blur, no haze or fog veils. Rich, saturated but print-safe colour, balanced warm and cool tones, even lighting that keeps every area legible. Layered depth: a detailed foreground, a lively midground and a structured background stacked through the frame. Small hidden stories and discoverable details spread across the canvas, rewarding a close look.
